Jan Epstein

Jan's artistic expression is a reflection of her multifaceted creative spirit, as seen in her contemporary works of art that feature black and white acrylic concentrations. Her pieces range from bold brushstrokes to geometric designs, and rugged textural pieces that incorporate mixed media. They are an embodiment of her passion to connect with her primal emotions and the environment around her.

Jan's artistic journey began in her early years, where she was exposed to the arts through classical and Broadway music playing in her family home and regular trips to New York's museums, galleries, and theaters. She honed her artistic skills through Saturday morning art classes at The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and piano lessons on Newbury Street. After completing her degree in Art and Fashion Design, Jan moved to New York City and made a name for herself as a successful fashion designer during the day and a club singer at night. Her musical talent led her to perform in various venues around the city, and was best known as the lead singer in The Collectibles, an acclaimed female rock band.

Jan took a break from the music scene to raise her family but returned to her musical roots in 2010 by forming Jan Epstein Music/Angel Blue Band. Her smooth jazzy vocals and the diverse musical backgrounds of her four highly experienced musicians complemented each other perfectly. While Jan continues to compose and perform part-time with her band, she has returned to her visual arts roots. The process of painting has become a way for her to express her deepest emotions without the need for words. With each new work of art, the language of her soul emerges through the texture and motion captured on canvas.

Today, Jan splits her time between Philadelphia and New York, where her paintings adorn the walls of beautiful homes on The Main Line and summer houses in the Hamptons. Her artistic journey has been a continuous exploration of creativity,
